Kliniderm Superabsorbent Dressing

About Kliniderm Superabsorbent Dressing

Super absorbency, super performance

Kliniderm® Superabsorbent dressings are advanced wound dressings with four-layer construction designed for moderate to heavily exuding wounds. The hydrophilic wound contact layer transmits wound exudate upwards and does not adhere to the wound surface. The distribution layer provides rapid fluid uptake and distributes the exudate evenly into the absorbent layer. The central absorbent core contains SAP polymer particles for outstanding absorption and retention. Fluid repellent backing layer minimizes fluid strikethrough and has high permeability to allow effective vapour transfer and breathability. Kliniderm® Superabsorbent dressings facilitate the wound healing by maintaining moist wound environment and prevent the maceration of the surrounding skin by retaining the wound exudate within the core.

Not made with natural rubber latex or DEHP. Medical device.

Indications

Contra-Indications

  • Do not cut or tear the dressing
  • Do not use on dry, non-exuding or lightly exuding wounds
  • Do not use as a treatment for arterial bleeding or on heavy bleeding wounds
  • Do not use in cavity wounds or for surgical implantation

Directions for use

Application

  1. Select a suitable size of Kliniderm® Superabsorbent so that the dressing overlaps the wound margins by approximately 1.5 cm
  2. Gently apply the white side of the dressing to the wound
  3. Fixate the Kliniderm® Superabsorbent with an appropriate secondary dressing, such as bandage or tape. The dressing can be used under compression bandaging

Dressing change and removal

  1. Kliniderm® Superabsorbent can remain in place for up to 7 days, dependent on the condition of the patient and the level of exudate
  2. Replace Kliniderm® Superabsorbent when the dressing has reached its absorbent capacity or whenever good wound practice dictates that the dressing should be changed
  3. Gently remove the dressing from the wound bed and dispose according to local procedures and guidelines. If removal appears to be difficult, saturate the dressing with sterile saline solution
  4. If required, irrigate the wound site according to good wound care practice

Precautions

  • In case of signs of infection, consult a healthcare professional for adequate infection treatment
  • Do not use on patients with a known sensitivity to polypropylene, cellulose or SAP polymer
  • Sterile if pouch and seal are intact; do not use if damaged
  • Do not re-use. Re-use can cause serious infections
  • Do not (re)sterilize
  • For external use only
  • For use under the guidance of a healthcare professional
