Indications

- Leg ulcers
- Pressure ulcers (stage II-IV)
- Diabetic ulcers
- Surgical wounds
- Donor sites
- Secondary healing wounds
- Second degree burns
- Trauma wounds
Contra-Indications
- Do not use on surgical implantation.
- Do not use as a treatment for arterial bleeding or on heavy bleeding wounds.
- Do not use on patients who are sensitive to, or have had an allergic reaction to the dressing or its components.
Directions for use
Application:
- Cleanse the wound in accordance with local procedures and guidelines. Ensure the peri-wound skin is dry.
- Select a suitable size of Kliniderm® Super Fiber so that the dressing overlaps the wound margins by at least 1 cm. The dressing may be cut or folded. When using the ribbon dressing, loosely pack the dressing to about 80% capacity leaving at least 2.5cm outside the wound for easy retrieval.
- Gently apply the dressing to the wound and cover with an appropriate, moisture retentive secondary dressing, such as, but not limited to, transparent film dressing, hydrocolloid dressing, foam dressing or bandage. The secondary dressing should be a moisture retentive dressing, and the size of the dressing should be able to completely cover the wound area and overlap at least 2-3cm onto the skin surrounding the wound.
Dressing change and removal:
- Kliniderm® Super Fiber can remain in place for up to 7 days, dependent on the condition of the patient and the level of exudate. Cumulative use should not exceed 28 days.
- Replace Kliniderm® Super Fiber when the dressing has reached its absorbent capacity or whenever good wound practice dictates that the dressing should be changed.
- Gently lift off the secondary dressing and remove the dressing from the wound bed and dispose according to local procedures and guidelines. If the dressing appears dry or when removal appears to be difficult, fully saturate the dressing with sterile saline solution.
- If required, irrigate the wound site with sterile saline solution according to good wound care practice for removal of gel residue.
Precautions
- In case of signs of infection, consult a healthcare professional for adequate infection treatment.
- Do not use on patients with a known sensitivity to the dressing or its components.
- Sterile if pouch and seal are intact; do not use if damaged.
- Do not re-use. Re-use can cause serious infections.
- Do not re-sterilize.
- For external use only.
- For use under the guidance of a healthcare professional.
